Edwin Gomez 34 or Providence RI was arrested Monday afternoon after RI state police made a traffic stop.. Gomez was stopped for speeding.. upon walking up to the car Tropper Hawkins could smell a strong sent of marijuana.
He asked Gomez to exit the vehicle.. Gomez was placed in the back seat of the troopers vehicle.. Upon searching Gomez car Officer Hawkins found cash, Marijuana, and a digital scale..
Gomez was placed under arrest and brought to the state police barracks. When searched at the station Officers found a kilo of cocaine hidden in Gomez rectal.. Its still unclear how and when he put it there.. We will be following this story and giving more details as they come out..
