Today, players got to experience a one-time live event that was, according to the community due to leaks, supposed to reset the entire map. Players got together all around the globe and watched it at the same time. This event ended in the game being in a state where the screen ends up being black, and there is a small black hole in the center with blue flares surrounding it.
As of now, it has been 3 hours since this has happened. Players are believing that this was an attempt for Epic Games to shut down its hit game, due to controversy and hate.
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney says, "We believe this was the right choice, as the community was getting aggressive and toxic towards players, and people were taking the game extremely seriously. We wanted to create Fortnite as a place where people can play and have fun, not be overly competitive and not enjoy the game at all. We wanted to shut it down forever as a live event that for the last time, everybody would get together and experience it all as one."
