The NHL Board of Governor’s unanimously approved the relocation of the Florida Panthers to Quebec City this morning. The Panthers have been dealing with fan attendance issues, crappy ownership and sales issues. The move to Quebec City was a decision made by Gary Bettman as he said “Quebec City has a loyal and hardcore fan base, an excellent arena called the Videotron Centre and a divisional balance between the West and the East.” The relocation to Quebec City will come with new ownership. A company called Quebecor will take over in ownership. The city of Quebec will finally get another franchise as they lost the old team in Quebec to Colorado in 1995. The Florida Panthers will rebrand as the Quebec Nordiques.
